Foodies like me will have the time of their lives at the Top of the Glo in Makati City as its a haven of Asian gastronomical adventure. But, I will not mention any other restaurants here for the meantime since I am still at a high from the experience I had with the recently opened Japanese restaurant called Shaburi and Kintan Buffet.

This restaurant is a marriage of two dining concepts which is a welcome treat especially to Shabu-shabu and Yakiniku or barbecue lovers. Yes, you got it right-Shaburi means Shabu-shabu and Kintan mean barbecue.

I have eaten separately at Shabu2 and barbecue places and this is the first time I will be having both under one roof. Barbecue from Samgyupsal restaurants ballooned like mushroom here in the country so let’s see if their Kintan can fit my discerning taste buds.

With just the first meat cooked, I am hooked! Truly one of the juiciest and tender meats I have tasted so far. You have unlimited meat plus unlimited dishes at the buffet spread, what more can you ask for? Oh yes, unlimited drinks and dessert too! Whew!

Look Ma, no smoke!

Mr. Hubert Young, Chief Executive Officer of UCC Philippines tells media guests, “The idea is to bring together two of the best concepts in Japanese dining — shabu-shabu and yakiniku — in one luxurious buffet setting.

But Mommshies, you are only given 90 minutes for the buffet but hey, do you think you haven’t stuffed enough within one a half hour? For me, it is super sulit!

I chose to have the Kintan over the Shabu-shabu so I will be talking more about it. You have four courses to choose from: the Regular BuffetKintan BuffetPremium Kintan Buffet, and Special Wagyu Buffet. Only one course per group. You can then choose your type of rice (Kintan and Steam) and the special meats.

Did I mention that their dipping sauces are home-made and so yummy? They have spicy Miso and Garlic but you can also concoct your own sauces.

I do love the fact that they have employed Japanese ingenuity on the tables so grilling is smokeless. No more barbecue smell that sticks in your clothes.

Wow, all you can eat quality Japanese Bbq and Shabu-shabu in one place! This is just perfect! I am bringing my foodie son here too soon!

Shaburi and Kintan Buffet is located at Japan Town, Glorietta 2, Makati City. They are open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call 0917-811-5625 or 02-719-5141 for more info.  You can also visit their Official FB page https://www.facebook.com/shaburiandkintanph/
