With the aim to boost the ongoing vaccination efforts led by the private sector, Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines is partnering with Robinsons Supermarket for a donation drive that benefits the Philippine Red Cross’ Victory Over Virus program.

Until January 14, 2021, shoppers and consumers can participate with every purchase of select P&G hygiene essential brands such as Safeguard, Head & Shoulders, and Oral B in over 40 participating Robinsons Supermarket and Robinsons Easymart stores. Php 15 will be donated to the mission with each qualifying item. Proceeds will fund the operational cost of vaccinating 6,000 vulnerable individuals via PRC’s Bakuna Buses in far-flung areas and communities with no access to vaccines and vaccination centers.

This donation drive succeeds P&G’s prior donation of Php 5.2 million to the Philippine Red Cross’ Bakuna Buses that help vaccinate 15,000 vulnerable Filipinos in CALABARZON within the next eight months. PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon initiated the establishment of the Bakuna Bus fleet comprising of borrowed commercial buses that were converted to mobile vaccination clinics, to drive to various areas across the country to vaccinate people who cannot go to the Bakuna Centers. As of November 2021, there are now 17 Bakuna Buses operating in NCR, Luzon, and the Visayas. Plans of having a Bakuna Bus catering to Mindanao are in the works.

“We are grateful to Robinsons Supermarket and Red Cross for partnering with P&G on the Victory over Virus program. This will help many Filipinos get access to vaccines that fight the pandemic while enjoying superior, quality P&G products,” said P&G Philippines President and General Manager Raffy Fajardo.

Amid the pandemic, P&G’s Force for Good program has been positioned to help provide the comforts of home, health, and hygiene to their employees, consumers, and frontliners, and communities. P&G has successfully vaccinated close to 100% of their employees and is starting to vaccinate employee dependents and household members. It also helped secure vaccine access for 8,000 of its business partners. P&G was also the first company to repurpose its manufacturing plant to have a medical-grade face mask production line at the onset of the pandemic and has since donated over three million face masks. It also donated PPE suits; over one hundred million worth of hygiene infrastructure, decontamination showers, and equipment; and over 100,000 hygiene kits for hospital frontliners, Red Cross isolation and quarantine centers, World Vision communities, LGUs, government agencies, IATF, and DOH citizen programs.
